Switching to Varro is easier than you think
Already filing with someone else? Moving takes minutes. There's nothing to re-file, nothing to tell HMRC, and nothing to lose.
From £6 a month. Starter files your quarterly updates and your year-end — no switching fee, and no minimum term.
Our switch promise
Five things we commit to when you move your filing to Varro.
- 1Your filed quarters stay filed
Anything you've already submitted through another provider stands. There is nothing to re-send.
- 2You don't need to tell HMRC
No forms, no notice period, and nothing to cancel on their side. You connect Varro and file from here.
- 3We bring your details across
Connect HMRC once and your business details, your deadlines and everything you've already filed this year come through automatically.
- 4We check your figures against HMRC before you file
Your update covers the whole tax year so far, so before anything is sent we compare your records with what HMRC already holds. If yours fall short we show you the gap and the period it covers, so nothing goes backwards by accident.
- 5You can switch at any point in the year
Mid-quarter is fine. So is switching when you've already missed a deadline — that's a good reason to move, not a reason to wait.
How it goes
- 01Connect HMRC
A couple of minutes with your Government Gateway login. Everything HMRC holds for you comes across.
- 02Add your records
Upload your statements and receipts back to 6 April. Varro sorts them into categories — you just confirm.
- 03File your next update
We compare it against HMRC's record first and flag anything missing, then you approve it and it goes. Cancel your old subscription once you've seen it go through.
Worth knowing: we can't import directly from your old software, and we can't cancel your subscription with them. Your bank statements have everything we need, and it's worth keeping the old account until you've filed once from Varro.
Questions people ask before switching
No. HMRC records what you owe them and whether it's been met — not which product you used. You authorise Varro through your Government Gateway login and file from here.
No. Updates your previous provider sent have been accepted by HMRC and stand. Varro picks up from where they left off.
Yes, and most people do. We'll ask for your records back to 6 April rather than just the current quarter, because each update covers the year so far — and we check the totals against HMRC's before anything is sent.
No. Your bank statements from 6 April have everything Varro needs. If you can export your data it's handy for cross-checking, but nothing depends on it.
You can still switch, and it's worth doing sooner rather than later. Once you're connected we'll show you exactly what's outstanding and what it takes to catch up.
